Sex Offenses / Child Sex Offenses / Child Pornography

If you have been charged with a sex offense or accused of a sex offense, you need an experienced and aggressive criminal defense attorney. Persons charged with these offenses do not receive any sympathy or understanding from the police, from prosecutors and judges, or from the public.

In Tennessee, the punishments for persons convicted of these offenses are extraordinarily harsh. They can include long prison sentences, a lifetime of supervision by a parole officer, and a lifetime requirement that a person register as a sexual offender.

Attorney Bernie McEvoy prosecuted these offenses as an assistant district attorney in Davidson County. He knows that false allegations of rape occur. He knows that false allegations of child sexual abuse occur. They can occur when parents are battling over child custody.

Attorney Bernie McEvoy knows how detectives investigate these cases. If you have been accused of a sexual offense, you should contact an experienced criminal defense attorney immediately. You should not talk to law enforcement officers about the allegations against you. You should not talk about the allegations with anyone, not even your family members.

Attorney Bernie McEvoy knows how prosecutors evaluate these cases, how they prepare for trial, and how they present their cases at trial. Most importantly, he knows how to defend these cases. This requires special skills that are developed only by trying these case in front of juries. Attorney Bernie McEvoy had done that as a prosecutor and as a criminal defense attorney.

Attorney Bernie McEvoy frequently lectures to other criminal defense attorneys on the subject of defending clients charged with sex offenses and child sex offenses.
